The variety of diamond earrings styles available can often make the choice difficult and confusing whether shopping for yourself or for a gift. Diamond Hoops
Circle, semi-circle and oval earrings are known as hoop earrings. Diamond hoops usually carry a line of diamonds either on the whole or the front view. Hoops that cling snugly on the earlobes are commonly referred to as huggie earrings. Loose or wide hoop earrings swing far below the earlobes, sometimes as far as the shoulder and usually hold a hinge or snap lock. Small diamond hoops are a popular choice among middle-aged women as their elegance can epitomise class and style.
Diamond Danglers and Sparklers
Dangling earrings hang down from the earlobe and can be a wide range of lengths, from around one inch to a length that falls on the shoulders. The most popular styles are chandelier and drop earrings. Chandeliers have a more glamorous appearance as they branch out wide, while drop earrings look more sophisticated with a single line dropping down that can be adorned with diamonds or pearls.
When choosing diamond earrings any with obvious imperfections should be rejected. The stones should have clarity, high quality and clear colour, and the buyer should know the 4Cs of diamonds. Diamonds represent an investment as well as a piece of jewellery. Earrings are one of a woman’s prized possessions, together with the ring, necklace and bracelet. They make for a great investment especially when they have diamonds set in them.
